Remove TheDirty.com Post or Images![]() Navigation: Main page Author: ReputationArmor.com
Remove TheDirty.com Our firm has been getting a lot of calls over the past 2 years about the website TheDirty.com and about how they allegedly post defamatory comments and "copyrighted" images of people. The website allows users to submit content for publication and is most likely protected under the CDA Sec. 230 which is a law that states that a website or internet service provider is not responsible (legally) for content submitted or added to the site by a third party. It seems however that TheDirty.com posts this information sent to them with their own hands and hand picks which content goes on their website, it is unclear to my legal team at this point weather or not thedirty.com is legally responsible for the negative content posted about others. TheDirty.com is a website that does have their ducks in a row as far as watching their back when it comes to legal issues. They have terms of use that is well written, a privacy policy, and a copyright policy. TheDirty.com also has the following disclaimer on their pages: "TheDirty.com, The world's first ever reality blogger™ is all about gossip and satire. The content that is published contains rumors, speculation, assumptions, opinions, and factual information. Postings may contain erroneous or inaccurate information. All images are credited to their original location. The owner of this site does not ensure the accuracy of any content presented on TheDirty.com." TheDirty.com also gives people the opportunity to plea for removal of negative content and copyrighted images if the content is a blatant violation of rights. More times than none your request of removal will not be honored because thedirty.com is not breaking any civil or criminal laws, they are reporting content from others, not making it up and posting it on their own (in most cases). Our firm ReputationArmor.com has no magic wand to make thedirty.com delete content or images about you. As a matter of fact we would never really suggest contacting thedirty.com without a solid case and cause. What we can help you with is removing negative content (images) from thedirty.com's website by using legal takedown procedures. In many cases to remove thedirty.com pages about you is substituted by hiding them from internet searchers. If you are mentioned on TheDirty.com then most likely the page about you on thedirty.com ranks high on Google for your name or other broad keywords, our service is designed to limit how high on Google these pages rank. We basically bury the links deeper with other optimized content to make it so when people search your name or keywords, thedirty.com doesn't rank very high (at least not on pages 1-3).
